ABSENCES
If your child is absent, please call the office to notify them and leave a phone number where you may be reached. This will prevent you from having to send in a note when your child returns. Please try to schedule all doctor appointments outside of school hours. This will prevent your child from missing activities and important information. See the student handbook for additional information.
HOMEWORK PASS

Each student is given a free homework pass at the beginning of every six weeks. It is up to the student to decide when to use the pass. If the pass is used, the student is still responsible for knowing the material covered. Use it wisely!

HOMEWORK/ ASSIGNMENTS
Homework is to be turned in at the beginning of class when it is due. If homework is not turned in and the student does not have a homework pass, the student will receive an automatic late notice (documented) and an 11 point penalty off the graded assignment. Your child may choose to work during recess that day to complete the assignment or to finish it at home. However, a late notice for the assignment will be sent home. Please sign the notice to be brought back to school. If your child does not return the assignment the next day with the notice, he/she will receive a zero and a ZAP notice (see classroom policies). Spelling tests are every Friday. Weekly Math Homework assigned on Tuesdays is due the following Monday. Additional assignments will be assigned periodically for math and science as needed.
GRADE TRACKING

Students are to keep a running record of their grades as they are handed back to them on the sheets provided. New sheets will be given at the beginning of each 6 weeks. By keeping the tracking sheet updated, students will know their current grade average in science at any time. Graded papers will be given every Tuesday to be taken home that night.

PLANNERS
At the end of the day, each student will CIRCLE any assignments still incomplete. It is the student's responsibility to make sure all assignments are written down correctly from the assignment board and to bring home any required materials. Students will not be permitted to come back to the classroom after 3:45 to get materials.
