ABOUT ME....

(Back to home page)

Thank you for viewing my web page. Here is just a little bit of information about me and my journey to Highland Village Elementary (HVE). I earned an Associates Degree before receiving my Bachelors Degree for Education. I received a certificate in Elementary Education with a specialization in mathematics. I enjoy teaching at Highland Village Elementary and look forward to my eighth year of teaching.

I have enjoyed teaching all subjects, but am a life-long learner of mathematics, science, and technology. It is important to me to continue to develop as a teacher and be all the BEST I CAN BE!

I have high expectations of ALL my students. I strive for student excellence and hope to inspire students to reach their full academic potential. In order to achieve this goal, I too, must reach for excellence. I am a member of the National Science Teachers Association and the National Teachers of Mathematic Teachers. I have been the campus Science advocate over the last few years, which represents our campus at the district level. I help mentor teachers in the use of technology and integrate technology into my classroom daily. I have also assisted with UIL (Universal Interscholastic League) and extend my assistance to other venues, including the PTA during my tenure.

I hope this website will serve as a communication link between you, your child, and me. I am a firm believer that and academic success is attributed from strong family support and communication between the teacher, student and parent.

My husband and I love spending time with our daughters, two cats, and our rabbit. As you can see from this page, I especially LOVE cats. Here are some photos of my "family" at a glance. I will periodically update this site during the school year. However, my SCHOOL WEB site will host safe, interactive, online discussions for students to participate in.

Please don't hesitate to contact me on the home page if you have a question or just need to reach me. The best way to contact me is by email (thompsonca@lisd.net), but I may reached by phone at (469) 713-5957 and ask for ext. 5835 or by appointment to meet in person during my conference period and after school.

Thanks for visiting my page and hope you are kept informed with the other pages.

I enjoy learning new things that will allow ALL learners to be successful.

I LOVE Texas snow, since it just doesn't fall very often!

We adopted another kitten this past April. Both cats are very special to me and my family.
