Lone
Star Reading List
| The
Texas Lone Star Reading List is compiled by public and school
librarians from the Young Adult Round Table of the Texas Library
Association. The purpose of the list is to encourage students
in grades 6, 7, and 8 to explore a variety of current books.
The Lone Star List is intended for recreational reading, not
to support a specific curriculum. |
Texas
Bluebonnet Award
The
Texas Bluebonnet Award is a project of the Texas Library Association
and is cosponsored by the Children's Round Table and the Texas
Association of School Librarians, two units within the T.L.A.
The Texas Bluebonnet Award Committee, made up of representatives
from both school and public libraries, select the twenty books
for each year's list. Students in grades 3-6 vote for their
favorite title from the list, and the author of the book receiving
the most votes is the recipient of the Texas Bluebonnet Award.
