Class
Schedule
All
classes are welcome to visit the library. A class schedule is
located at the circulation desk, and you may sign up for any day
or block of days during the school year. Since our library is
large enough to accommodate two classes at the same time, please
indicate on the schedule the area of the library that you prefer
(east side or west side). If your students will be doing research
using computer databases, please reserve the east side of the
library where our computers are located. Teachers are expected
to remain in the library with their classes.

Videos
The
videos housed in the library were purchased by departments and
given to the library to catalog and store. All videos, including
those in the library collection, must receive administrative approval
before being shown. Approval forms are located in the library,
or you may click
here to print a copy.
It
is illegal to show a video as a reward or for entertainment purposes
without a public performance license. A license has been purchased
for our school so that we may use videos for Team Days or other
special occasions; however, the license covers only the following
motion picture producers:
Walt
Disney Pictures
Touchstone Pictures
Hollywood Pictures
Columbia Pictures
Tri-Star Pictures
Paramount Pictures
DreamWorks Pictures
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer
Miramax Films
United Artists
Warner Bros.
Sony Pictures
Lions Gate Films
New Line Cinema
Universal Pictures
Please
be sure that noncurricular movies used for special purposes are
produced by one of these companies. Our administrators have written
guidelines regarding the site license, so please be sure to have
these videos approved as you do all of the videos that you use
in your classroom.

Student
Use of Library
Student
library hours are 8:15 A.M. to 4:15 P.M. Students who wish to
come in at 8:15 must get a pass from the teacher on duty in the
cafeteria. Each day the duty teacher is given fifty library passes
to distribute. Students may come in during the school day with
a pass from a teacher, and each teacher may send as many as four
students at a time.
Students
may check out two library books for a period of two weeks. Books
may be renewed one time. Fines of .10 per school day are charged
if a book is not returned by the due date. No fines are charged
for weekends, holidays, or for any day that the student has an
excused absence. Those who owe a fine or have an overdue book
may not check out more books until all overdue items have been
returned and fines have been paid.
Eleven
computers are available for student use in the library. Students
are allowed to use the computers for school-related assignments
if they have turned in Lewisville Independent School District's
Acceptable Use Policy which has been signed by a parent or guardian
and by the student.
