MRS. SMITH

Welcome to Hedrick Middle School 6th grade math and my very first website! My name is Jennifer Lee Scott (I go by Mrs. Scott at school), and I am one of the math teachers at Hedrick Middle School.

I was born on May 10, 19?? AD,in New Orleans, Louisiana. My birthplace is reflected in the décor of my classroom. I have a Mardi Gras poster and mask on display, as well as a Tabasco picture. I lived in New Orleans for several years as a little girl. When I was about six years old, my family began to move often. We moved to Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Covington, Louisiana. I remember eating lots of seafood and po-boys. We also lived in El Paso, Texas. I remember going to Juarez, Mexico and buying things like pottery and jewelry! I made lots of friends and saw many interesting things during this period in my life. When I was in the 5th grade, my family moved to Conroe, Texas, where we stayed.

I graduated from Conroe High School in 1986 and went on to Texas A&M. I love being an Aggie! I consider the years I spent at Texas A&M some of the best ever! I graduated in 1990 with a BS in Curriculum and Instruction. After college, I went to work teaching 3rd grade at Bunker Hill Elementary in Houston, Texas. My family moved toLewisville area in 1998.

I live in Highland Village in a little, pink house with my husband Greg, and two children, Laurin (8th grade) and Stuart (5th grade). I also have a white, fat cat named "Percival, the Mighty Warrior." I also have a furry, jewelry -wearing , white pomeranian dog named "Duchess". It is always busy at my house. When I have free time, I love to play the piano, and I like to walk around Lake Lewisville (which explains the orange mud on my tennis shoes). During my walks, I have seen lots of bluebirds, rabbits, and the animals I fear most of all…snakes (3 copperheads, 1 huge water moccasin, and one black snake with a red stripe).

During the day I spend my time teaching at Hedrick Middle School. I love my job because it is never, ever boring. My students are very interesting and energetic individuals who teach me a variety of lessons daily! I love teaching math, it is my specialty. Finding new ways to present information is always a challenge I look forward to! I hope that I can inspire each of my students to enjoy the challenge of solving a problem. Come calculate and problem solve with me!
