A conclusion includes repeating the thesis, summing up by restating the forecast in past tense, and going back to the AGD and wrapping up.

Support Material (Minor Grade)

You must have 3 from 3 different sources.  Only one can come from an encyclopedia, Wikipedia can not be used.  This must be turned in prior to  giving your speech in order to receive the points for support material on the speech grade.

Support Material is published documentation that you will say word for word in your speech.  The support material does not have to be in quotation marks  (quotable quotes) in the published documentation.  Anything you say from the published documentation word for word is support material thus facts, statistics, definitions, descriptions, testimony, examples, compare/contrast, illustrations, and of course quotable quotes are considered support material

Published Documentation includes books, magazines, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and internet articles that are copyrighted.

When giving support material in a speech you must give credit to the source just as you would in a research paper.  You do this by giving the name of the book, magazine or encyclopedia.  You can also cite a book by giving it’s author.  You cite a website by giving the website.  Do not state the entire website just the main part – to the backslash.  (Example www.geocities.com)

If the material is from a website

Anyone can put anything (as long as it is not slanderous) on a website.  If you are getting support material from a website it must be copyrighted material in order to count as your support material.  Copyrighted material will be noted with the symbol and a date.

We are looking for support material in well researched articles.  In order to count as an internet source your internet article must be at least 5 paragraphs long.  A paragraph is SEVERAL sentences grouped together. Do not go to quotes.com or some other similar search engine to get information.
