GET READY FOR NEW EXERCISE VIDEOS!

Students in every grade level will have the opportunity to help create our “Timberwolf Exercise Videos” every 4-6 weeks. These will be shown during morning announcements each day. To comply with Senate Bill 530 mandating that each child exercise 30 minutes daily or 135 minutes per week, students will have the opportunity to participate and exercise every morning with our fitness videos in addition to their time in P. E.

FITNESSGRAM

FITNESSGRAM is back again for the second year. FITNESSGRAM is mandated by the Texas Education Agency. It is required that all students beginning in 3rd grade and continuing through to 12th grade complete the selected health and fitness assessments specific to their age. Third –Fifth grade students will be tested on cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility through a series of predetermined skills tests. Results will be available for every student completing the testing. More information on the FITNESSGRAM can be found by clicking the FITNESSGRAM link on this page.

Please click HERE for testing dates and assessment information!

A Note From the Coaches....

Our goal is for each student to enjoy physical activity in a safe and encouraging environment. In order for your child to feel successful and to score the best grade possible, it is imperative that he/she is prepared for class by dressing appropriately and wearing tennis shoes. Hiking boots, western boots, ANY CROCKS, slip on shoes, and shoes without backs or heel support, open-toed shoes such as flip-flops are not safe. Students are graded by demonstrating skills and concepts they have learned. Students not wearing proper footwear will be asked to sit out during activities to prevent injuries to themselves and others.

Failure to wear proper footwear will affect the student’s grade in Physical Education. Sending in an old pair of appropriate shoes for your child to leave in their locker would be great so that their P. E. grade will not be affected by lack of participation. If you feel your child should not participate on their P. E. day, please send in written documentation for our records.

Physical fitness is an important aspect in their everyday life. Through agility, flexibility, endurance and strength activities We hope to create a fit mind and body. We believe establishing a strong foundation now is essential for life long health.

Stay Fit!
