Bridlewood choir and recorder ensembles are PTA-sponsored clubs open to all Bridlewood third, fourth, and fifth graders without audition.  Each club has two sections (one before school and one after school), and each section rehearses once each week (see schedule below).  We perform on two annual concerts (Holiday Revels on December 18, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. and the Spring Concert on May 14, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.), and will attend the Sandy Lake Funfest (probably on Saturday, May 16, 2009).  In addition, the Bridlewood choir will perform on a Downing Cluster Choir Concert at Marcus High School on the evening of Wednesday, December 10, 2008 (time TBA).

Rehearsals are scheduled weekly from September 15-December 18 and January 26-May 14 except on TAKS days according to the following schedule:

                                Monday - 7:30-8:00 a.m. - Third grade recorder ensemble
                                                3:15-4:00 p.m. - Third grade recorder ensemble
                                Tuesday - 7:30-8:00 a.m. - Choir
                                                3:15-4:00 p.m. - Choir
                                Wednesday - 7:30-8:00 a.m. - Fifth grade recorder ensemble
                                                3:15-4:00 p.m. - Fourth grade recorder ensemble
                                Thursday - 7:30-8:00 a.m. - Fourth grade recorder ensemble
                                                3:15-4:00 p.m. - Fifth grade recorder ensemble
                                Friday - 7:30-8:00 a.m. - "catch-up" recorder class   New this year:  

New this year:  Because of the busy schedules of our Bridlewood students, we are asking you to make a half-year commitment to attend choir and recorder ensembles when you register (ie., to sign up for fall choir or recorder, to attend rehearsals from September 15 to December 18, and, if possible, to participate in the Holiday Revels Concert on December 18 AND / OR to sign up for spring choir or recorder, to attend rehearsals from January 26 to May 15, and, if possible, to participate in the Spring Concert on May 14 and the Sandy Lake Funfest on May 16).  Dues are $10 for fall and an additional $10 for spring for PTA members ($15 for each session for non-PTA members), payable to Bridlewood PTA.  Also, because our school colors have changed, each participant will need a new (black and red) Bridlewood Music shirt for our concerts.  The shirt is the same for both choir and recorder ensemble, and cost is $11.
