Hi! I am a native Texan, born in December, in Dallas, and have been in the metroplex ever since. When I was in third grade, we moved to The Colony and I attended Peters Colony Elementary. I had the opportunity to do my observation hours and student teaching here at PC while going to college. Then, when I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Womans University in 1996, I began teaching here- my home away from home! I've taught fourth grade, first grade and this is my seventh year teaching second grade- what a great age! I am our campus Social Studies Advocate, Gradebook Mentor, and School Website Designer.

At home are my husband of 17 years, Johnny, our son Cody (10th grade) and our daughter Kady (3rd grade), along with our dogs, Penelope Belle (Nellie) and Dixie Lucille (Dixie). We like to go riding on our Harley FatBoy, go camping in our travel trailer, and take walks around our neighborhood pond and feed the ducks.

These are a few (a lot) of my favorite things:

Interests-- reading, vacationing, coloring, learning

Things to Collect-- old pitchers, elephants, books...

Places to go-- Build-A-Bear Workshop, library,
Barnes & Noble, museums, plays/musicals/symphony, craft shows & bazaars...

Vacation Spots-- San Antonio, Walt Disney World, Colorado, Silver Dollar City, Florida beaches

Animals-- elephants, giraffes, moose, mouse

Music-- bagpipes, instrumentals, RUSH, country

Colors-- (whew- this is hard- it depends on my mood), but I really like greens and purples

Food-- I'm quite a picky eater, but I sure do like Kraft macaroni & cheese, buttered toast, Grama's home-grown tomatoes & homemade bread, Moma's fried spinach,...

Clothes-- jammies, jeans, houseshoes...
and for more dress-up occassions I like Coldwater Creek jackets

Restaurant--La Hacienda Ranch, Mimi's Cafe, Babe's

Drink-- milk, caffeine-free Dr. Pepper, green Kool-aid

Children's Books-- Harry Potter, Junie B. Jones,
Click Clack Moo Cows That Type, Emma Kate

Children's Authors-- Tomie dePaola, Dr. Seuss

Adult Books & Authors-- Chicken Soup for the Soul books, Nicholas Sparks, Luann Rice, classics

Children's Movies-- Surf's Up, Ratatouille, Cars, Finding Nemo, Pirates of the Carribean, Harry Potter

It's always good to have goals. Some of mine are:

*learn to crochet
*go on road trips to see famous places
*be my very best in all that I do, along with you
*clean out my attic
*build a 'library shelf wall' for all of my books at home

**For a self-challenge, use my topics and write down your favorites for each one. Then bring it in and share it with the class, and me! I can't wait to find out more about you!**
